Griffin Internet, the UK’s leading supplier of Managed Broadband responded to a plea from a long standing customer to help a scout group from Essex.
Tim Neobard has been a Griffin customer for many years along with his family and contacted Griffin;
“Due to the fantastic level of service I’ve received and the level of support I’ve not required (and the friendly voices when I have.)”
Tim Neobard runs his own business which supports his father’s scout group helping to create a web site and offering access to several server services such as streaming video and webcams and commented,
“Griffin Internet has donated a broadband connection to 4th Rochford Scouts to support our drive for IT learning in the movement. This will better enable our Scouts to learn a wider range of skills and benefit from some of the in-depth resources about scouting.”
Although the group is located in a fairly well off area in Essex the majority of the scouts come from low earning households situated in nearby council estates. The scout leaders are working with them to introduce better IT – something they are taught at school but rarely get to practice.
