Griffin Increases Speed of Network

CopperStream Homeworker Max and CopperStream Office MAX Enable Customers to Get More from their Broadband

Griffin Internet today announces that it is set to quadruple its broadband connectivity speeds with the launch of an up to 8Mb* broadband products for both homeworkers and business users. The increase will enable Griffin to improve the speed, reliability and standard of its services and will be available from most of the 5700 BT exchanges.

With major investments in its network infrastructure, Griffin has significantly improved the range of services Channel Partners can offer their business customers, including state of the art IPSAN-based hosting, virtual private networks (VPNs) and MPLS networking services. With the introduction of 8Mb broadband business users will be able to get more from their broadband by running bandwidth hungry applications such as VoIP as well more traditional services such as email and surfing the web.

Andrew Dickinson, Sales & Marketing Director, Griffin Internet said: “Griffin is one of the few ISPs to operate a voice-ready network and consequently is the ISP of choice for many PBX and voice resellers, as well as new entrants in the VOIP market. Significantly for the voice market, whilst we are quadrupling the maximum downstream speed to 8MBit/s, the maximum upstream speed also increases from 256Kbit/s to 832kbit/s.”

“This is great news for our Partners selling multi-site VPNs, particularly where their customers want to start channelling voice from remote workers back to their head office. Not only can they offer a robust broadband product for remote workers but they can also boost CPS/LCR revenues from existing customers by capturing remote workers’ voice traffic.”

*Top speeds can vary significantly, in particular because of a user’s distance from their local exchange.
